2009 LOUDON ROADRACE SERIES
AWARDS BANQUET

COURTYARD MARRIOTT  in FITCHBURG, MA

Well another years Awards Banquet has come an gone.
I hope all those that came had a pleasant evening.
There were quite a few important and positive announcements made by the track GM Jerry Gappens and there will be more in the next few weeks before the season kicks off again. So please
keep checking the LRRS web sites as well as the www.NHMS.com site for more information.
Check out the LRRS Facebook page for pictures from the event http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?v=photos&gid=59693011513&so=0

The Awards Banquet was at a new venue this year and a lot of hard work went into producing this event.

There are a few people that should be thanked when you see them around the track for all the work over the years.
This Awards Banquet has been made possible by volunteers since AAMRR shut down in 1985 and LRRS was created!

Cathy Curtin and Margaret Scheer (who you always see, rain or shine, at Pre-Grid making sure that you make it out to your races) hunted down the new location, had the first meeting with the hotel to go over our needs, organized the duffle bags that were given to the Champions, contacted vendors for the afternoon Expo/cocktail time, helped with trophies on a the Saturday before at my shop, created the center pieces and in general helped to keep everything under control during the setup and the evening and so I could keep may sanity. Thanks Steve Aspland

Jack Aksel designed the trophies and created all the parts necessary to build them at his shop while trying to maintain his own business and while only working 25 hours per day.

Bob Demetrius created the artwork for the number plates used on the Championship trophies at his LSHD Advertising business. He also creates (at no charge) the artwork for the weekly trophies handed out at each event.

Betty Danilowicz handled the mailing for the banquet and license renewal as well as the collection and organizing of the RSVP for the event and table assignments based on receipt of RSVPs.

Eric Wood, Steve Baron and myself (a few amateurs) covered for Bruce Berlinger who could not attend this year to do the announcing as he has since the wheel was invented.

Ed McFarland carted all his own sound equipment to the hotel (as he has done for years) and mated it with the house speakers to be sure that you could hear the event.

These people below (I hope I did not miss anyone) all chipped in to do the final assembly of the trophies

Jack Aksel
Todd Babcock
Ted Temple
Don Hutchinson
Steve Baron
Alan Hathaway
Doug Scheer
Edgard Velloso
Eric Connolly
