Who was Karen Hornbecker?
Applications for the Karen Hornbecker Memorial Fund can be either given to any of the following people:
Mrs. Patricia Fournier (usually found out on pit road during
races)
Mr. Tom Fournier Ex #55
Ms. Aleda Cole (Raceway Ambulance)
Mr. Dick Jalbert (Ambulance Support)
Mr. Jim Smith (Seacoast Cycles)
Jim Rich (Racer #62)
Kit Kraysha (Racer #858, corner worker)
Or Applications may be dropped off at the Media Center at NHIS.

All applications will be reviewed and the racer or his family will be notified whether they are eligible under the guidelines of the fund to receive any monies based upon their injuries.
The following is a
guideline to be able to receive funds from the
KAREN HORNBECKER MEMORIAL FUND.
These criteria must be met first and the final decision to distribute funds is still left up to the committee board members.
Must be a licensed racer with LRRS/GP-Pro Organization.
Must be injured during a sponsored event of the LRRS/GP-Pro (this includes practice or race).
Must request funds by either the racer or a representative. In writing include the racers name, address, phone number, race number and class and a brief description of the incident.
Must be seriously injured and out of work for an extended period of time.
Funds will be limited to no more than $250 per racer/injury and may be decreased by the committee based on seriousness of the injury.
The committee has the final decision and may decline payment if the injury is not felt to be within guidelines.
All monies raised for this fund will be distributed based on committee decision not by any donors.
If fund raising proves successful the bylaws can be amended to increase funding amount for distribution.
This fund is established to help with immediate needs of injured racers and is not designed to be a source of income or continuous source of funding for any injured racer.
This funding is not to act as any type of insurance or to cover medical bills. This fund is designed to cover immediate needs for a racer and family.
This fund is in lieu of any type of insurance coverage that a racer my have.
